Heather Melville has performed extensively on stage, video and film. She is an in-demand choreographer, director and vocal coach having worked with the University of Windsor, Hudson Play Company, StoryBook Theatre, Triangle Theatre School, Evergreen Theatre, University of Calgary and Theatre Works. At Theatre Works Heather was one of 3 Artistic Associates and taught dance, drama and Musical Theatre. She has written the book for 6 full-length musicals (Dogpound, Perfect, Pages, Maia, FLARE and jOURney), one of which was nominated for the Siminovitch Prize for Playwriting. (Perfect) With Theatre Works, Heather directed the spring musical for 12 seasons at the Vertigo Theatre. In her spare time she volunteered for The Stampede Talent Search committee for 10 years, a year round commitment. Heather has been fortunate to teach various workshops throughout Calgary, work as an artist with Learning Through the Arts, and presently the Drama Specialist at Connect Charter School. Heather obtained her BFA degree in Musical Theatre from the University of Windsor in 1992 and her BEd Degree from the University of Calgary in 2012. Connect Charter School has been her home since graduating, teaching drama and Grade 4 Math/ Science. Heather is excited to share her knowledge and love of theatre with the Students.
